Paul Blankenstijn: Youth Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is perhaps the second-oldest educational model (after homeschool). It is a proven and trusted model for teaching the skills, abilities and behaviours required for entering the trades. There are over 40 designated trades and subtrades in Saskatchewan. They fall into four sectors – Agriculture, Tourism & Service; Construction; Motive Repair; and Production and Maintenance. About 15% of an apprentice’s learning takes place in technical training. Paul will talk about trades and subtrades, technical training schedule, and the information you need before attending technical training.
